A Little About Me...

Hi! I'm Lauren, the illustrator and founder of ´╗┐´╗┐Thriftbox.

I'm a big lover of cats, especially my own little black kitties, Luna and Goku. I love to play video games, ever since my older brother introduced me to Super Mario Bros 2 when I was little. Some of my favourite titles are Fallout 3, Ni No Kuni (1&2), Super Smash Bros and most Zelda games! Floral patterns and bold colours are my all time favourites. In my spare time, I love to watch anime and read manga, with my current favourites being Berserk, Attack on Titan, Fullmetal Alchemist, Evangelion and One Punch Man. I will also never have my nails bare.
Thriftbox was first thought up in the summer of 2012, when I rediscovered my love of designing, creating and sewing. It wasn't until the following summer that I decided to dedicate my time to my little crafty business. Since then, I've picked up graphic design skills along the way, and have created many different illustrated mugs, badges, print and even nail decals.

Luna

Luna, aka Trumbles, came into my life back in April 2015, when I finally decided to adopt. I have always known that I wanted a black cat, which stemmed from my love of the Japanese film, Kiki's Delivery service. She is an extremely sassy diva who loves a good cuddle and a drink of any cup of tea available. Trumbles has been the Thriftbox mascot since she was patient enough to sit still for the camera, and continues to be my loyal desk cat whenever I am attempting to work. Her side eye is something of wonder.

Goku

The newest addition to the family is Goku, aka Little Man (oh, the irony). I rescued Goku back in 2016, after he was found abandoned by his mum at only 3 weeks old. He came to live with us at 6 weeks old, and has settled in well. He spends most of his time pestering his older sister, napping and eating biscuits. He is a complete scamp who loves to chase his own tail and chew all the cushions in the house. Even though he can be quite nervous, he loves being around people that he knows, and is always ready for a chin rub.
